Professional Bio

Savannah Stanton attended Oregon State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Renewable Materials: Science & Engineering. She decided to pursue a career in education & currently teaches high school wood manufacturing courses as a career technical educator in Oregon.

Amid the global pandemic, she enrolled in a master’s program for Wood Science & Engineering at Oregon State University. Her current research is directed toward woodturning tools & techniques.

When she isn’t teaching, studying, or coaching, Savannah is often found covered in the debris of her artistic medium — wood chips and sawdust — specializing in woodturning, both sculptural & utilitarian in nature, and unique wood-based installations & murals.

Artist Statement

Wood serves as the primary element in Savannah's art. Through her work in an organic, tactile medium, she designs pieces that examine the human experience. Whether through the intersection of socio-environmental interactions, cultural identities, or perception versus reality, her desire is to make you think critically about the world you inhabit & your role in it.
